LEGISLATIVE UPDATE!
 
On March 5, 2018, the IRS released Revenue Procedure 2018-18 (as part of Bulletin 2018-10). Due to changes made in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, certain adjustments needed to be made to inflation amounts. This includes a reduction in the maximum family HSA contribution for those with family coverage under a High Deductible Health Plan from $6,900 to a new limit of $6,850 for the calendar year in 2018. The single contribution limit remains unchanged at $3,450 per year.

UnitedHealthcare: UnitedHealthcare clamps down on insurance claims for costly emergency room visits. On March 1, 2018, UHC launched a policy directed at hospital claims for emergency room care that involve the most intensive and costliest services. Source: Naples Daily News: Read full story here.
 
Regence BlueShield: Regence transitioned to Prime Therapeutics as their new pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) effective 1/1/208. This means new networks for members covered on individual of small group plans. In addition, Regence has contracted with a new home deliver provider, AllianceRX Walgreens Prime.
 
Finally, the formulary was updated 1/1/2018 to reflect market changes and access to lower cost alternatives.
